Want To Say Thanks?

I'm a one man show here (but my dog keeps a watchful eye), and I built this calculator completely free for everyone to enjoy. The single best thing you can do is share this calculator with anyone you think will find it useful. Reaching more people helps me out tremendously as a one-person business.

If you want to say thanks, you can also buy me a Starbucks coffee to keep me going! Just click here to go to Starbucks.com and send a small giftcard to matt@cheatdaydesign.com. There is absolutely no obligation to do this, but since people have asked, I figured I would add it here. Coffee or not, I will continue to update this Starbucks Nutrition Calculator for you to utilize.

PS: If you send a gift card, there is no way for me to thank you since no contact info is attached. Just know that if you happen to send anything that I appreciate it SO much.

All Your Questions Answered

Who created this calculator?

If you’re new to this site, I’m Matt (you can learn more about me here), and I built the calculator you see here. It drives me crazy that there is no Starbucks calorie calculator on their site or in the app, so I took it upon myself to build my own. I am not a Starbucks barista myself (just a coffee lover), but I did contact numerous Starbucks employees to make sure the information provided is as accurate as possible.

What is the Starbucks Nutrition Calculator?

The Starbucks nutrition calculator is a tool that allows you to calculate the nutritional content of your favorite Starbucks drinks. The calculator is designed to provide you with the calories, fat, carbs, protein, and caffeine of your drink. Most of the carbs in Starbucks drinks are from sugar, but I have separated the added sugar out to help you track that as well.

How do I use the calculator?

Simply select a drink category, then select a drink from the dropdown menu. Choose your size, along with any customizations you’d like, and the calculator will automatically update with the nutritional information in real time based on your selections.

Note that when you select a drink, all of the values will default to the way Starbucks traditionally prepares that drink, including the appropriate amount of syrup pumps.

Is the nutrition information accurate?

Rest assured, this Starbucks calories calculator contains the most up-to-date nutritional information available. This calculator was created using all of the information that Starbucks makes publicly available. But remember, these are all estimates. No Starbucks coffee is going to be prepared exactly the same way, and different Starbucks locations may use different brands of specific ingredients. The best we can do is estimate, but these calculations will all be very close.

Starbucks cup sizes are confusing. How large is each cup?

When I was new to Starbucks, the sizes were a foreign language to me. Here’s a helpful image to break it down for you:

Why is some nutritional information missing?

This calculator was created by one single person, and after spending hundreds of hours building this out, I simply needed to draw the line somewhere. I opted to include calories, the main macronutrients, sugar, and caffeine. Saturated fat, sodium, or cholesterol will need to be manually calculated.

I’m a barista. One of the drinks does not seem correct.

I know that lots of baristas might use this calculator and feel like certain aspects are not correct, specifically when looking at milk amounts.

Here’s a little peek behind the scenes of this calculator: Starbucks provides all of the nutritional information for the syrups and add-ins they use, and we also know which brands of milk they use (which means the nutrition information is available to us). However, the milk amounts for each drink are not made public. We can estimate the amounts used in a typical drink, but doing that leads to many inaccuracies. So, this calculator was created by filling in all of the information we do know concerning the flavor syrup pumps, whipped cream, etc, and then filling the rest in with milk to match up the nutrition facts provided for each drink on the Starbucks website.

If it seems that the amount is incorrect, it’s due to the drink’s nutrition information not being correct on the Starbucks website. Rest assured that if/when changes are made to the Starbucks information, they will be reflected in this calculator.

The nutrition info for my drink doesn’t match the Starbucks website.

You may notice some discrepancies in the calories or macros of certain drinks. If a drink is off by 20 calories or less, or a specific macronutrient differs by 1-2g, we can chalk that up to rounding. For any larger differences, here is what the case might be:

1. Some of the nutritional information on Starbucks.com is simply incorrect. I know we don’t want to believe it, but the information on their end is provided by humans who make mistakes sometimes. In creating this calculator, I noticed some drinks where the calorie content was reflective of a drink without whipped cream, even though the drink was served with whipped cream.

2. Starbucks is estimating, too. In a perfect world, every drink would be prepared in the exact same manner, but that simply does not happen. Pours vary, especially when it comes to milk, cold foam, whipped cream, etc, so the best we can do is estimate.

What if my drink is not listed in the calculator?

I’ve included the most popular Starbucks drinks in the calculator. If you don’t see your favorite, let me know by contacting me here, and I’ll try to add it in future updates! In the meantime, you should be able to spin up any coffee drink you’d like with a little creativity.

How does the calculator account for different milk options?

The calculator has a dropdown menu for various milk options, including almond milk, nonfat milk, coconut milk, oat milk, and more. The nutrition facts are based on the most widely-used brands throughout Starbucks, but it’s worth noting that some locations will use different brands, which will slightly alter the nutrition facts (but not by much).

In some cases, you can customize the amount of milk in your drink. For example, if you add skim milk to your brewed coffee, you can select the “normal” amount, or opt for “light” or “extra.”

There is no option for steamed milk in this calculator.

To simplify this calculator, steamed milk is grouped in with the total milk amount. If you customize a Flat White, the milk you select will be reflective of the steamed milk amount.

Does the calculator include seasonal or limited-time items?

I update the calculator periodically to include popular seasonal or limited-time offerings. If you don’t see a new seasonal item once it becomes available, like a Pumpkin Spice Latte, check back soon or spin up your own custom seasonal drink (the season syrups remain in the dropdown year-round).

Is the nutritional information the same across all Starbucks locations?

While Starbucks follows standardized recipes, there can be slight variations in ingredient brands and preparation methods across locations. The calculator provides a general estimate, but it’s never going to be 100% accurate between locations.

Can I save my customized Starbucks drink for future reference?

Currently, the calculator provides real-time nutrition estimates without a save feature. However, there is a handy “Generate My Order” button at the bottom of the form to allow you to copy & paste your order into your notes or screenshot for future reference.
